Hewitt is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hewitt follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I saw a lot of comments saying the food wasn’t authentic. First of all, it’s very difficult for any Lao food in America to be 100% authentic because many traditional ingredients and condiments are hard to source. Restaurants also need to keep the flavors balanced so the food appeals to a wider range of customers. I had the beef larb and the fried pork belly and both were phenomenal. The flavors were much closer to authentic Lao food than I expected, and I really enjoyed the meal.

5 stars all the way! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Annmarie never disappoints. The pho is absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and seriously some of the best I’ve had. You can tell it’s made with loveee with every bite. What really makes this spot special though is the owner. She is beyond sweet and always goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. You can truly taste the love in the food, and that kind of experience is hard to find. When I call in my order the staff already knows my name and what my order will be! 🤍 Highly recommend if you’re looking for something comforting, delicious, and made with heart. I’ll definitely be coming back again and againnn!

Food did not taste authentic or to personal liking, stir fry was salty and pho tasted like it didn’t have any flavor just hints of the aromatics. Was disappointed I wasn’t able to try out more food that is supposed to be authentic but base off the dishes I got alone maybe it was a sign. Didn’t bother to ask for anything else bc the ambiance was hostile and not the best vibe for me I just wanted to go somewhere else and seeing responses from owner on other reviews ALMOST made me hesitate to post this review but again it’s my personal experience, businesses should hold themselves accountable not always defend especially if they are in the wrong. Seems like this place is known for the eggrolls base off research, i think this place would be better as a ghost kitchen since customer service isn’t best and limiting the menu to focus on “a taste of laos” so we all can experience the flavors of a beautiful country.

A Taste of Laos recently moved to a new location, and it’s a fantastic upgrade! The food remains amazing, and they now offer fountain drinks with refills, which is a great addition. Portions are generous, and the staff is always friendly and happy to answer questions about their authentic Laotian cuisine—a true gem in the Waco area. I had the Spicy Noodles with Chicken, and they were delicious! Be warned, even the ‘medium’ spice level packs a punch, so if you’re unsure, go with ‘mild.’ My partner had the Fried Pork Belly plate with fried rice and absolutely loved it. Everything is made to order, and they’re great at accommodating dietary restrictions. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Enjoyed the food. The portions are big. The food was authentic. The service was great and the cashier was informative. We ordered several items on the menu to taste a little bit of everything. The Laos tea was tastier than expected and paired well with all of the dishes. The Pho was authentic and the noodles were cooked perfectly.
